For owners, investors, and households across the Pacific Northwest
Seastone CPA is a family-owned tax and advisory practice serving those building for the coming decades, at home and abroad. We help you navigate the increasing financial complexity and uncertainty of our era.
J.S. is the firm's principal advisor. A licensed CPA (WA & NJ) and Enrolled Agent, he has practiced on both coasts — at large and midsize firms across public accounting, tax relief, and private equity, and at advisory boutiques serving ultra-high-net-worth families and their businesses. His work spans passthrough structures, real estate strategies, M&A, and cross-border compliance. Offline, he loves being with his wife and son. When not hiking, biking, skiing, or traveling, you'll find him with a small stack of books. His favorite subjects are theology, philosophy, history, and finance.
Syd is the firm's operations partner. She has practiced on both coasts (Seattle and New York) in cloud engineering and DevOps. At Seastone, she runs the systems, infrastructure, and operational practices that keep the firm steady. When not working, she loves skiing, biking, traveling, shopping, and watching wildlife with her family. Her palate prefers umami — blue cheese, wasabi, miso — ideally with a glass of sparkling mead.
Compliance is the cornerstone of any sensible tax strategy. For individuals, households, businesses, fiduciaries, and organizations who need their returns prepared timely and accurately.
Complex operations, cross-border activity, payouts, purchases, big decisions — as the saying goes: early tax advice is especially profitable.
For business owners who want their CPA in the room across the life of the business — operating models, cash flow analysis, scenario planning, and the decisions between.
We custom-price every engagement based on the complexity of the client's operations and the scope of work. We also offer flat-fee engagements, and so tailor the pricing to each client's situation. We seek to be fair, honest, and generous with you.
Successful, long-lasting partnerships require compatibility — you have to like us, and we have to like you. Thankfully, compatibility can also develop with time, and so we welcome the conversation.
